Busy week, Projects to be posted soon.

Well, It has been one heck of a week since my last post. All last week my boys and husband have been passing around some illnesses. It has been everything from an ear infection to projectile vomiting. So after surviving until Friday we had a busy holiday weekend.

Saturday as everyone knows was St. Patrick’s Day and Sunday was Mother’s Day here in the UK.

For St. Patrick’s Day we decided to take the boys to the parade this year, which was fun. This was my first time going out for St. Patrick’s Day in Northern Ireland OMG! it was insanely busy. Trying to find a place to stand was a nightmare and the make it even harder we had our double stroller which some how people manage not to see and walk right into. Once we found a spot they boys really seemed to enjoy it. I had no idea that finding a spot to watch the parade was going to be the easiest part of the day. Once the parade was over there was a free concert, I didn’t know any of the groups playing and really wasn’t interested so we decided to buy some whistles for the boys and pick up a few things while we were in town. Simon and I split up him taking Donovan and I had Cameron and Jestin. I felt like I was trying to shop on Christmas eve. The streets were packed and many of the shops were filled. I could barely push the stroller along the sidewalk because of the teens and drunk students causing complete road blocks. I had only wanted to go to one shop, Craftworld. I eventually made it the few blocks to the shop which luckily was not too busy. I was able to pick up a few things I needed for upcoming projects and some parts for general maintenance on my sewing machine (which I recently got from Simon’s Granny and it has got to be about 50 years old. More info to come when I get a chance to post my DIY burp clothes tutorial.) After checking out Simon called and we both agreed it was time to go. We met up and caught the bus home to have a quiet evening with the kids.

Mother’s day was lovely. I woke up to toast, coffee and presents. Donovan picked me out the cutest ring, and I also got some beautiful new wall art.  I am so lucky to have a husband that actually thinks about what I would want and will shop for the best deal. He makes me so proud when he gives me a wonderful gift, that I absolutely love, and he has spent less the £5. My DIY style has rubbed off on him. He picked out three 8×8 canvas prints, two of the same and one that goes with the others and has arranged them vertically separated by a few inches. It looks like a three piece set that would cost about £20 if bought together. I love it. I also got flowers, chocolates, and the cutest card Donovan made me at school.

Cameron ended up waking from him nap very ill when we were getting ready to go to the park so we ended up laying on the pull out bed and watching movies together and then I let the boys paint a bit before dinner. I had a wonderful mother’s day and wish I could post pics, but my camera battery died and I can’t for the life of me find the charger. 😦

Anyway, the point of this post was to mention that I picked up supplies for upcoming projects that will be posted soon. I have already completed the Silhouette Canvas of the boys, and am hoping to finish the burp clothes and some Spring Kids Crafts tomorrow.

Where to begin

So, as my first post I guess I will start by introducing myself. My name is Robyn and I am a wife and a stay at home mom of three boys. Donovan is 5, Cameron is 2 and Jestin is 4 months. Although I was born and raised in San Diego, California, in 2010 my husband and I packed up and moved to his hometown Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. I have been here for a little over 1 year now and during the last year we have been through a lot and we welcomed a newest addition, Jestin, to our family. I don’t know if it was the change in location or the pregnancy, but I really started getting back into my hobbies. This is when I noticed that I like doing a lot and there is nowhere near enough time in the day to do much of anything now that I have my monsters filling my day and to p top it all off I am starting my own estore http://www.etsy.com/shop/BraikDesign.  So I starting trying to do one thing at a time. But then when I am in the middle of doing one thing another holiday or event comes up and I want to do something for that. I feel very scatter brained all the time and am hoping that by doing this blog I will be able to organize my crafting ventures and share with the world some of my creations. So everyone is welcome, I will be posting a little bit of everything crafty. Including but not limited to baking, crochet, kids crafts, digital design, DIY, and crafting on a budget,  and much much more.
